What Is Clary Sage Essential Oil?
Clary Sage Oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and flower tops of the clary sage plant—Salvia sclarea—and has a sweet, nutty aroma with slight, floral notes.
Clary Sage Oil has long been regarded for its sedating and anti-anxiety properties. A known anti-inflammatory, it is highly regarded for relieving menstrual cramps. Clary Sage Oil also has anti-bacterial properties.
How to use Clary Sage Oil
There are three means of administering Clary Sage Oil.
Add one or two drops of clary sage essential oil to a steam diffuser, ultrasonic diffuser or oil burner—this will infuse your living space with a soothing sense of calm.
For muscle pain relief—abdominal cramps in particular—add a couple of drops of clary sage essential oil to a carrier oil such as sweet almond or olive oil and massage into the skin.
When used as a soap ingredient, clary sage essential oil's anti-bacterial properties act as an astringent, assisting acne sufferers. It also helps to regulate skin oils while imbuing the skin with a sweet nutty, slightly floral scent.
Essential Oils are highly concentrated and must be used with care.
Not to be taken internally.
Do not use clary sage oil for treating medical conditions without first speaking to a medical professional.
